If it's more than 12 hours out why would they give you a GS on reserve days? They would just assign you the trip as a reserve pilot. I'm not following your scenario.
Domestic rules vs intl, vs ULH all different. I will admit I don't even think about domestic rules. I only think of ULH. I understand your confusion with what I said and I'll go back to coloring.
