Yes and these high volume short hauls would be perfect for the ATR's and Dash's. I remembering seeing the fuel burns from KCLT or KGSP. Both planes do the run in about 21 minutes. Dash 8 300's series 50 peeps burns fuel around 700 pounds. EMB 145 50 peeps around 1300 pounds. The Turbo Prop short haul is the best way to fly segments under an hour. However once you leave that 1 hour window you start to see the Regional Jet make that up in time and speed. But under an our you can't beat a Turbo Props generating ability. Too bad they will slowly go away in the AAG market.
There's a reason AAG wants us to keep flying these Dash 8's until they time out. And that's because they generate a bunch of revenue. Period.
