Okay, I have to ask...And please don't flame bait me here, this is a legitimate and admittedly ignorant question.

Why are military guys always able to get hired with so much less time? Are their careers valued much more highly than civilian? Or is it because military pilots don't fly as much and therefore it's considering years of service?

This is an honest uneducated question. We don't have this topic where I come from north of the border-everyone is civilian.
