If you have a degree, you will have more options down the road (like the majors).
If I were you, I'd wait until you have 1,000-1,500 turbine, which would be very competitive for another job, and then ask for a raise. In the mean time, if you really think the regionals will pay you more, get your 1,500 total and move on. But, it's hard for me to believe that the first couple of years at a regional will be a step up in pay.
You need to get the ATP to be competitive with the majors, so you'll have to either upgrade to captain and get the ATP with the full type rating.
