One other aspect is if I had been one more number senior, I would have been put on a different aircraft category, but was put on the "less desirable" airplane. Thought at the time it was a bummer, but that put me down a road of experiences and meeting individuals that I wouldn't trade anything for.
It is what it is, but no matter what someone is going to lose out. At least by age I knew that I would be employed longer than the other individuals at current property - if I so desired to stay there.
Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining about Delta's system and not trying to reinvent the wheel. I'm just giving perspective of an age based seniority system.
Question: is there any other airline that does it similar to Delta? I didn't know if others used last 4 ssn. Seems all the ones I've heard of use age.
United used to use the SSAN. I don't know how they do it now.
