Default Fdx retirement timing

The way I read the contract, if I am scheduled to be operating a multi-day trip on the day that I have told the company that I will be retiring, I will be removed from the trip and be NQN (non-qualified, no pay) as of the retirement date. Will I be placed in substitution status for the time I am still qualified? That is the way I read it. I would like to hear from someone who has retired in this circumstance as to how the company actually handles this.
Also, what happens if, after someone else blocks out on the trip, I decide to postpone my retirement to some date a month later? And what happens to trips on my schedule after my original trip.
