I retired last year and was sick up to my retirement date. Try to retire on the first day of the next calendar month, don't worry about the bid month. It is very beneficial.

You will get paid for the month you retired on plus receive your final check a few days later....talk to Ann or Janice Gentry. You DEFINATELY WANT TO TALK TO THEM.
