Southwest to add route to Fort Myers

DALLAS - Southwest Airlines plans to add a route to Fort Myers, Fla., in October, expanding its flights to and from Florida, the low-cost carrier said Monday.

Southwest plans to announce fares and flight times for the new route next month.

Once the flights begin, Fort Myers will become the sixth Florida city Southwest serves. The Dallas-based airline also offers flights to Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa Bay and West Palm Beach.
