Look at 117 for exact quote, "Before beginning any reserve or flight duty period..."

I believe (don't know) that if you acknowledge your 1100 SC before your LC starts, your duty would start at 1100. But if you don't, it will start at 0000... When you either check your schedule or get a call from scheduling. But I'm not sure on that specific, nor am I sure anyone else is clear on it.
