I'm more inclined to agree with Trash Hauler's post than N570UP's....unless maybe a boxhead recommended N570UP....and that is great. A rec from a boxhead manager definitely carries a lot of weight.

The recommendation process at Brown is set up for employees to submit them online at the company website. The pilot rec form is about seven pages long, with numerous questions about the potential employee that must be answered in a short essay format. The pure length of the recommendation is enough to discourage any Brown pilot from submitting one for a casual acquaintance. The questions ask in detail about the person's character, leadership qualities, flying qualities, and how/where you flew with the potential employee. It also asks how many recs you have submitted, for whom, and what is the status of that person. It is set up so a pilot can't just write that Joe Blow is a good guy, and is a friend of a friend that flew at the same military base as me 10 years ago. The person recommending you really has to know you, and must have flown with you.

I was told by a management pilot friend that the rec will not help you in the least getting asked to the interview, but they will mean a lot once you are sitting there in the interview @ SDF.
