I don't believe competitive mins (as far as hours) are a big deal at Southern or pretty much anywhere else for that matter.

What matters most is that you understand just what in the hell it is your getting yourself into.

It would be helpful to go back and read well written posts from guys like bird strikes and spike. You really need to educate yourself on what an ACMI carrier is and what it is not. At my interview at Southern, i felt like they just wanted to get to know me and find out if I was flexible enough to handle the demands of a supplemental ACMI carrier. I worked for an ACMI carrier prior so I supposed that helped. I haven't looked at the website, but if you have several thousand hours and an ATP I would think you would be fine.

If you get on, you will be flying with some of the most knowledgeable, skilled dudes in our industry. But it would help to have your sh*t together because there is absolutely zero support from the company when your half way around the world in a 777 over Syria in the middle of the night.
