These types of FSR's have been showing up with greater frequency, over the past few years. I just don't understand why someone would spend the time and effort, to tell others that: a) we were cleared to FL330 and forgot to set the altitude alerter, when ATC called us as we passed FL338; or b) I couldn't/didn't read the small print on the chart and then pushed back without ATC's approval. There is nothing to be learned by these types of reports. We all know to stop our climb or descent at the assigned altitude, and to read the whole appropriate chart, prior to doing something. Personally, I feel that guys submit these types of FSR's in the hopes that the company will hold them harmless for admitting their mistakes. I wouldn't bet on that however.
