Not so sure that "bad management" is the proper term. Parker is doing just what has been trained to do and expect. See when you have a labor group that is dead focused on killing each other it really eliminates the worry management usually has when having to deal with that group. Parker was able to violate sections of the west contact because he knew that there would be minimal pushback from east run usapa. He never had to worry about labor unrest focused at management because pilot labor was focused on one another. He was further able to keep the flight attnds at bay by stating that they wanted to get all deals done at once so it stalled them out for 8yrs as well.

No I am sure of it now, its not bad management it stupid labor. Pilots are their own worst enemy. Pilots are one step behind doctors in thinking that we are GODS gift to the world and that we are the lords of all creations. Everyone wants to be us so that must mean that we are supremely intelligent. The fact of the matter is pilots have shown over the years just how really stupid we are and how easily we can be bought off.

Dangle a nice hourly rate in front of us and we will tout that we are the best but each and every one of us failed to read the work rules which really made the sweet hourly rate not too sweet at all.

Promise us new big shiny airplanes to fly and we will cream all down our legs to get to it but since we didn't do a good job of really reading that contract with got shaft on that end too.

Management teams bring in hired guns to do what they know they are not really capable of doing. Management knows their limitations and they stay in their lane. Pilots however, well we are smarter so we feel that we have the ability to go toe to toe with these professional negotiators and come out on the winning end. This is arrogance at is highest level and it has ALWAYS served to work against us yet we keep repeating the cycle over and over and each time we expect and different result. That my fellow aviators is pure insanity!

So when you use a term like BAD MANAGEMENT, I think you really need to go back and take a long look at just who and what is really bad.

It really pained me to make this post because I am after all one of us. Sometimes we really need a strong dose of truth in hopes that someday we might learn and change the way we have been failing ourselves...
