This isn't big news since we have been asked to cover flying (probably Endeavor) due to their staffing problems. Is this is a step in the right direction? I truly hope so but this is nothing to increase staffing or create upgrades. So forgive me if I'm not too thrilled with the slight increase in block hours for a couple of months. I guess this was the "big news" that the CRJ guys were waiting for in December.

If I remember correctly, the union email said it was a 2 year deal. As for the CRJ news, I agree with you that it's to appease the CRJ pilots for the erj announcement. If you look at the Q&A that was released with the erj announcement, you will see questions that asks why is the AA flying using ERJs instead of CRJs, is the CRJ flying for AA changing, and if CRJ pilots will be able to work the ERJ aircraft. They clearly anticipated some consternation on the CRJ side. This CRJ announcement is just part of them trying to calm the masses. Which isn't necessary in my opinion. Everyone knows that the reason it's ERJs as opposed to CRJs is because of what AA is going to Envoy.
