A random polling of 1500 Americans can usually predict a presidential election within +/- a few percent. 54% should provide very solid results of what the pilot groups wants. The survey would not be considered random polling. There would be bias based on who actually is willing to take the time to fill out the survey. For that reason the MEC has chosen to increase the Wilson polling which is random. That however costs money and will reduce your dues refund. It would have been better to have 100% participation.
