There is a PDF file under the FAR117 signed by a Mr. Mark W. Bury who is the assistant chief council international law, legislation and regulations for the FAA signed August of this year. Mr. Bury seems to think that a RAP can be extended as well by up to 2 hours. But as Vegas pilot pointed out, page 21 of our work rules state that no pilot will be scheduled for more than 16 hours. I guess "scheduled" is the operative word. Sorry, we didn't schedule you for more, it just happened. Now, are you taking that extension or not? Funnier part is that part B of that section states 16 hours is an FAR limitation.

So my guess is the Vegas FSDO will follow the lead of their assistant chief council.
