I have been reading this thread for a while, and truthfully it has deterred me from applying. It seems as though my airline might be on the brink of closing doors. I am not one to cross a picket line, but on probation status within first year, isn't that pretty much saying you might as well resign if you don't take the flight?
You won't have to worry about it. If there is a strike, most likely all flights will be suspended.
