The "rumor" I heard was that the rates DAL were offering were below profitability, therefore our company wasn't interested. ZW bid below cost, to get their foot in the door, hoping to negotiate things up later; the same trap G7 and many others have fallen into with DAL. And they quickly realized that wasn't going to happen with the hard deal RA negotiates. Thus them losing interest before money.

Now hopefully, DAL will realize the time has come to spend some of their record profits and mssive fuel savings on securing long term quality feed, not just cost before all else. DAL must realize you have safe, cheap, and quality, but you can't have all three. You must choose two. They need to start paying us what we're worth, or take all the flying in house and roll the dice that the 717s pay off with oil approaching $60/barrel for the long term.
