Boeing Makes First Flight Powered By Green Diesel.

The Chicago (IL) Tribune (12/3, Karp) reported that Boeing announced that it has “completed the first test flight using green diesel” in a 787 Dreamliner. The Tribune reported that the plane was powered by a “fuel blend of oils and fats,” and Boeing called the flight a “major breakthrough.” Julie Felgar, managing director of Environmental Strategy and Integration at Boeing’s airplane unit, said, “Green diesel offers a tremendous opportunity to make sustainable aviation biofuel more available and more affordable for our customers.”
