Double checking the CBA it looks like RAT actually pays the higher of:

- Original trip guarantee at 100% of normal rate

Or

- trip guarantee of the RAT trip at 125% of the normal rate

One issue with RAT trips is that they do NOT qualify for Disruption Pay

I've seen scheduling RAT a trip after Showtime, but before Block Out, to avoid crews from being able to Decline the trip...and avoid paying overage & disruption pay after the trip
