b. get an FAA ATP with either B737 or A320 type rating?
c. get hired at regional and let them provide ATP + type rating?
Specifically to your question. The answer is "C". A regional is probably the only way you are going to afford to get current and the regionals are desperate enough now to hire someone who hasn't flown in 7 years. Get 500 more hours and you'll be back in the hunt, but right now none of the big boys will give you the time of day.
