Many of the pilots I talked to weren't necessarily there for the "quick upgrade" (although a few certainly were). Most of everyone I talked to was more interested in either living in a PSA base or an easy commute.
Or to be in a place that has constant movement in the years to come. Or to work for a company that has long-term plans (cough TSA...). Or to have control over your schedule (see SAP). And more...
