Hey "Hoss" Skywest has already done this in the past with United. It started as information campaign with letters be handed to all UAL jump seaters explaining the problem and the need for it to be fixed. If it wasn't taken care off in a timely manner jump seats would start being denied. The problem amazingly was fixed in about 48 hours from the start of the information campaign.
The appalling part of the current situation is that delta is now pulling in 1 bill + per quarter and not wanting spend a few thousand $ to fix the glitch. Not only that but DAL pilots show very little interest in honoring the recipricol agreement.
