They beat down Endeavor Air and now they have Endeavor and GoJet to use against Skywest. That's the way it is in the contract sector. But now Delta's costs are cheaper, so now American decides to file bankruptcy (even though they have billions in the bank) just so they can trim expenses and stay competitive with Delta. Bankruptcy is often the only way to renetgotiate long term leases and union contracts. The archaic Railways Labor Act takes any leverage away from the employees.
