Women and blacks are under-represented in the profession compared to their percentage in the general population. There isn't anything wrong with these organizations since they just inspire and support those trying to make it into this industry and be successful.
It is not my intent to derail this thread. I'm certain OBAP does many good things and fills a void, but per their website:

When you retire from a legacy decades from now with a multi-million dollar B-fund and are on the operating table about to have your widow maker blockage removed, you are told your cardiac surgeon finished at the bottom of his class and has a troubled surgical history, but that's O.K. because people like him were under-represented? Good luck.
Count me out.
