You hit the nail on the head. I work for Silver Airways. During our 441's all captains are receiving right seat training in the sim. The company used to say that we also needed IOE in the right seat. They have recently changed their mind and now say we don't need the IOE.

The wording in 121.434 is fuzzy at best. I just want to make sure no one gets violated for flying in the right seat without having received IOE.
