I have had zero luck "trading" with other pilots but moderate success dropping trips & picking others up. I look for pilot-pilot trips to pick up first then open time. Overall, it's not awful and does seem to be getting better.
I finished OE in Oct. For my reserve line in Nov, I was able to do several trade with self days, and got 4 days off over Thanksgiving.
I have a line this month and in Jan, and have been successful with first and second step trades, open time trades, as well as pilot to pilot trades. But, I acknowledge it could be beginner's luck!
