Management (AAG, DAL, UAL) hold the cards.
Our mainline partners are the ones who pull the strings. This is why getting comfy at a regional may or may not be the best thing to do. UA/DL/AA/US/AS are always looking to save money. We ask for better compensation, and rightfully so, but when we get more "expensive" they just go to the next lowest bidder (PSA, MAG, etc). It's truly a dog eat dog part of the industry.
My solution? Get in & get out.
