The metal frame makes the bag very heavy. This has been an issue when deadheading on foreign carriers if you are sitting in coach. They will look the other way if you are in biz or first.
In almost 26 years in the airline business I've found LW to be the best in the luggage business. While their bags are expensive, they're built like a brick privy and they take a beating and keep on ticking. If you're cheap like I am fork over the extra money now and never buy another bag the rest of your career.
