If you really understand ALPAs "predicament" then you understand the history, the level of protection, and the importance to its members that scope protection offers. Because you understand, I'm not sure why you'd suggest a course of action that's highly destructive to the career potential of over 12,000 pilots. Could it be that you don't actually understand, or is that you don't care?
As you've read, it's not ALPAs job to trade long term career protections to fix management's inability to adapt to short cycle capacity demands. Quite the opposite actually. UCH has known about scope choke since they agreed to it the fall of 2012, it's not the pilots fault, nor is it their problem.
