My obsession with liquids is based in the fact that I'm lazy, and I don't want to have to buy little toothpastes, deodorants, etc. They run out quickly, and dammit, I'm in control of the plane already. If I can be trusted to fly it, I can be trusted with my family-size toothpaste.

It's just a stupid policy.
