I am going to assume by your post you don't actually work for a airline. TSA sets up random checks every day at major airports. In fact they are required to check a certain percentage of flights. They seem to love to grab crew members for random searches, we are easy to spot even out of uniform. 3 weeks ago in fact I was working a flight where TSA was doing random ckecks. They usually set up a table and pull aside every third or 4th passenger.
I don't know who you work for but at Alaska Airlines we are specifically exempt from random searches at the gate. These teams of TSA officers are sometimes called a VIPER squad. They do not harass the crew, in uniform, of the flight.
