It took a few years for congress to get this in place, they arent going to lower mins anytime soon, the families of the victims/ captain sully (oddly enough he supported the 1500 rule) and the general public will have an outcry before some kid can right seat with 750 or less hours anytime soon. Really the only people who are gonna hurt is mainline when to they have to start serving cities like TYS/BNA/MIA/DTW/STL with mainline again instead of 10x daily 50 seater and dont have the pilots or fleet to do so because they relied on Expressjet for so long to get it done.
