I agree! In fact, it generally just irritates me when someone says the generic, "Thank you for your service," line.

However, I don't think a letter sent to veterans is something worth complaining about. We have plenty of issues to be concerned with and it seems rather petty to be griping about who got a letter, the timing, the quality of the paper, etc.

Let's get on to the important things. Like the single ply tissue paper in the lav, the lack of real half and half in Indy, that kind of thing.
