The only reason management has gotten away with it in the recent past is because the bankruptcy court
LET THEM get a way with it.
Now that there's no bankruptcy-forced contract in effect, management can't simply decide that they want to pay certain pilots more than others. Pilot pay is contractual, period!
They can't simply decide that they want to give some pilots more pay, even if that pay is in the form of a bonus.
Ask the IRS if they view "bonuses" to be different than any other regular form of income and see what they say.
