Not disagreeing with you, but let's not forget the jumpseating FedEx pilot who went bananas on the flight crew with an axe some years back.
If FedEx had followed proper employee termination protocol he would have never been allowed to work or non-rev/jumpseat considering his termination hearing was the next day.
