I flew with a guy who gave me some good advice about reserve. Don't take it personal. You do not have any control over your time on reserve. Know the rules and apply them to your benefit where necessary or able. Crew Support (aka SS for CCB) has a job to do and a flight schedule to fill. If you choose to answer your phone on a day off or outside of your scheduled time, don't act like you're doing CS a favor and expect consideration for personal needs in the future. In other words, take the PERSONAL out of it. As someone pointed out not long ago (CCB) we are not unique snowflakes. We are a number and fill a seat. CS has a job to do. I don't think they necessarily do it efficiently and I'd like to see that changed, but from 9 to 9 my opinion doesn't matter....the rules do.
