This place AND the airline industry in general has had it's cycles of good and bad times but that's the nature of the business. Seems like many of our people don't get that. I have Lot's of furloughs and bankruptcies under my belt in the 80's and early 90's. The industry and AS are having some of best times ever. And the trends are positive. If one is not happy with the job now then they will never be. The airlines haven't had profits and hiring like this since the mid 80's. And before that it was the 60's.

Life is not fair, the are no guarantees, and it's a marathon not a sprint.

I'm gonna get the free hat too. and maybe a few shirts.
(I really don't understand the anti hat drama)

Cheers bro,
Well put.

Rose-colored glasses as I need to see this airline continue to make money and keep a network that is profitable. I would like to see Alaska remain independently strong enough to not feel a lot of change concerning how we do our job is necessary when a new competitor enters the market space. I seriously doubt it comes down to hats but if that's what the VP says we are going to do, then so be it. The bigger fear I would have going forward is merger/acquisition...so whatever keeps us from that, I am for. I will deal with any nuances that come with it accordingly, it helps to keep in mind that as a front-line employee I really am the end of the whip as well.

Cheers to those positively affected by today's results 👍
