On the E190, you can get really close to the belt loader during the walk around. It's not likely, but it is possible a gust could flick your tie into the mechanism as you duck under on your way to the wing.
The forward belt cargo bin is quite low, and the belt loader is right there at head level.
Ducking under a belt loader is what's gonna get you killed when the thing collapses. That has definitely killed rampies.
If it did somehow get stuck in the belt the way these ties are made you wouldn't even feel the thing rip off your neck.
