While I agree with you my QOL doesn't. Since starting here as a line holder until this month my schedule has looked no better or worse. Guys I know hovering over the 50% in base seem to have the same trips and schedules.
How's your PBS skillz bro? I actually learned a lot from a few ORD Captains who were cool enough to sit down and get me dialed in, helped understand how the mysterious machine does it's business. Of course the ORD flying is mainly pretty junky, so I guess you can only expect so much.
I'm no expert but I've learned a few things;
a) Old guys have no idea, totally lost. Same with FA's. Old/slow, mid range/senior FO's who have no clue are your best friend.
b) Very possible to outbid seniority (due to the old/slow people), you have to be realistic however.
c) Protein shakes.
