What makes you think Skywest sees a failure? They want to keep pilots divided. If they had wanted a real merger, Skywest Airlines would have been involved too. In retrospect, that would have gone much more smoothly because far more would have been given up for a true 3 way merger. This has been job well done from their perspective. They will just throw away the unionized side(s) of the corporation when all is done.
