Yes. I enjoy my job but the hardest part was initial training. I would plan to stay because scheduling plans change often. You could perhaps ask the training scheduler if you had a 4-day weekend but I would be trying to get back 2 days early just in case, they don't take kindly to not making it. I would venture to say it's unlikely you will be able to go home at all unless you live pretty close. Also no interline fares available until you're there for 6 months so plan to buy a ticket for your spouse if you want them to visit. On that note having them visit can also be tough because about the time you start to miss them, things get pretty busy. Again, not saying any of these things can't work out at all but just be very cautious about how you go about them as a brand new hire. I agree fully that it's not optimal but you need to plan for the possibility of being away for 9-10 weeks.
