I too have a visable tat and while im in uniform I DO cover it over with a makeup called DERMABLEND (you can buy it at any Dept. store like Macys, Dillards etc.). This coverup will run you $30-40 BUT it will last you 5-6 months depending on how often you use it. I was working for a Frac. for a few years now with a Major and people TRULY dont give a rats ass about it BUT I do feel alot better with it covered over.
