I can't tell you the horror stories i've heard from pilots while on layover of issues that arise out of nothing when dealing with flight attendants. If there was a known process for people to handle these issues without having to run to Delta it would make our lives much easier.
I personally had to talk an entire crew out of writing up an -ER Captain a few months ago because he kept making inappropriate comments about abortions. I personally didn't care and turned the other way, but it turns out 2 of the F/A's had miscarriages and weren't too happy. I talked to the Captain on the layover and suggested he might want to say a word in the van at pickup and that I talked them out of going to management and instead me sending an email to ALPA Pro Stan. I wish more F/A's would know about Pro Stan. The goal is to fix the problem, not get someone in trouble.
Actually...ALPA should print up business cards with the Pro Stan contact info and give them out to flight attendants.
