First off, why do you have a copy of our FOM? I don't run around with your inflight manual, nor do I care what's in it. Secondly, the key word/words here are "should" and "whenever possible". Change that to "will" and "at all times" you would have a point. As to my interpretation of the rest of this. 40 minute turns in ATL with a plane swap, the need for food or a dump are all very valid operational reasons to bolt. As a commuter, I typically plan my jumpseats on the flight that leaves 1 after the first flight I could catch so as to factor in being a little late or a drug/alcohol test. That being said, if I've been rerouted(damn near every trip) or running late and there is a chance of missing my jumpseat, you can bet I'm out of there.
