I agree, but it's better than the old LUS system, which was you waited somewhere between 1 day and 10 weeks to even get offered the job. And the ones who called to check on the process got a TBNT email later in the day. The only good thing was they offered you a class date when they told you that you were hired.
I think they are trying to cling to the notion that they don't have a "pool", when the reality is they now do have a de facto pool, but one with no ROE like DAL/UAL. Leaving guys like you in the dark.
