With all of the shenanigans that went on with trip parking I am sure they would find a way to abuse this also. I wouldn't want someone senior in my category biding a trip only to somehow let his out of base buddy be able to fly it.
That is the truth. There were quite a few examples of senior pilots WSing trips for no other reason than to give it to a friend. Not saying it doesn't have some benefits, but without major protections it is ripe for abuse. (At least if you are a fan of a senioirty system)
