This back and forth about this or that date for ERJ classes is useless.... Nobody can really say with any authority who's going where on what date, so take the advice of most on here and just take the CRJ. There is always a chance it could take 3-6 months before they even call you for an ERJ class so get the seniority now and bid for it later if you really want the plane. Seniority is everything and the CRJ is just fine for building it in. On the other hand if you really can't fly anything but the ERJ try one of the other carriers that has them.
Yup, agreed. The ERJ is surely a nice-looking bird, but my God, the CRJ-900 is virtually identical, numbers-wise, to the ERJ-175 and the CRJ-700 isn't far off. Plus, from the front cockpit you can't tell the difference (unless you're trying to climb above FL300 in a loaded 200.)
If I were in a 'pool' now, I would just call and ask for whatever class date they have on any airframe.
