I don't ever tip when the van is late picking us up at the airport or the hotel. By late, I don't mean being told the van is "10 minutes away," then it shows up in 11 minutes. Late means we've waited much longer than conditions (weather, traffic, our arrival time, etc.) allow. Use some judgment here.

Another thing I won't tip for is rude treatment of my crew. Many years ago, a driver complained about our complaints he was over an hour late picking us up. He started in on one of the F/As and I let him have it. I told him he would not yell at any of my crew. He could yell at me all he wanted but it would be in front of his manager or supervisor at the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, both got an earful.
