Not enough beers in Belgium for what the skipper did... going into business for himself. That behavior may be acceptable in other venues, but not in commercial aviation or any entity involving team work for that matter.
That captain believes in CRM... "We are the Crew... You are the Resource, and I'm the Management. Good aviating skills a Captain does not make.
